For kids’ 90s cartoon characters were more than just animations. They were their buddies, heroes, favorites and above all an emotion. The era no doubt saw the best of cartoons and cartoon characters. However, some of the cartoons have left an everlasting image in our mind. Going down the memory lane and enticing the notalgia we bring to you some of those evergreen 90s cartoons.
Powerpuff Girls
Three little girls with a burden of saving the fictional town of Townsville from evils were too cute and adorable to take the eyes off. Created out of a failed experiment these “little girls” made us believe that everything would be fine (in the cartoon) when they are round.
Dexter's Laboratory
We were all in awe of “Dexter’s” intelligence and knowledge. A kid who was beyond his age and had a private laboratory of his own. In his endeavors to bring the new inventions, he had to face his annoying sister Dee Dee who comes in from anywhere to irritate. Not to forget Dexter’s rivalry with his scientist next door (another amazingly intelligent kid) Mandark who was always up to bring him down.
Courage The Cowardly Dog
“Courage” was the kind of pet I always wanted to have. This timid pink dog was more than just a quadruped loyal pet. Courage, as the name suggests, was a “Sher Dil” dog who could find solutions to all the problems.Staying with the old couple Eustace Bagge and Muriel Bagge “Courage” was the apple of the latter’s eye.
The Jungle Book
The Jungle book was one of the best 90s cartoons (as per my love for the show, hope you agree) that had both entertainment and value-based learning for the kids. The sounds of Mowgli, Bagheera, Baloo, and the evilness of Sher Khan would hardly get an escape from our memories. Though we have an animated film on it made a few years back the memory of the cartoon that we woke up to watch early on Sunday’s is a cherished one.
Pokemon
If you just said “Pika Pika” (even in your mind) instantly after reading the name then hands down you have got the proof of how evergreen this cartoon is. Pikachu and Ash Ketchum is a duo that we always wanted to win all the duels. The tagline “gotta catch them all” made us get glued to the T.V. to get take a note of hero Ash Ketchum’s journey. Who can forget the annoying “Team Rocket”.
If I missed your favorite cartoon then pardon me, as I tried to put in the best out of them who would always be there in our memories. Don’t forget to let us know which 90s cartoon(s) do you consider evergreen?
